How it works

How to get your Facebook transcript

Use the public Facebook video link you already have, including Watch and fb.watch links. Review available captions as text for research or content planning, with a link back to the original video.

  1. 01

    Copy a public Facebook link

Open an individual video and copy its HTTPS link from the share menu or address bar.

  2. 02

Paste the link and get the transcript

Sign in, review the credit cost, and start extraction. Available text depends on the content the source video makes accessible.

  3. 03

    Review, copy, or download TXT

Read the available transcript, copy the words, or download a text file to use in your next project.

Supported Facebook links

Public Facebook Reels, Watch URLs with a video ID, page video and video-post links, video.php links, fb.watch short links, and /share/v/ or /share/r/ video shares. Text-only posts and group pages are not video sources.

Public videos only, within the displayed duration limit. Private, deleted, login-only, or restricted content may be unavailable.

Put your Facebook transcript to work

Save a product demonstration as copy, collect quotes from a public interview, or turn a community update into searchable notes. Use a TXT download for review or copy the transcript into your own planning document.

Facebook transcript questions

Can I get transcripts from Facebook Reels and fb.watch links?

Yes, when the shared link resolves to a publicly accessible video with available captions. Paste the Reel, Watch, page-video, or fb.watch link above; you do not need to expand a supported short link yourself.

Does this work with private Facebook videos or groups?

No. Private-group videos, login-only posts, deleted videos, and age- or region-restricted content may not be accessible. Use an individual public video that can be viewed without a Facebook login.

What if a Facebook video has no captions?

Facebook extraction currently retrieves existing captions. A public video without accessible captions may provide source details but no transcript. The tool does not invent spoken words from the video title or description.

Which transcript formats can I download?

You can copy the extracted transcript or download it as a plain TXT file. This tool does not currently export SRT or VTT subtitle files.

Do I need an account, and is transcription free?

Sign in to run extraction. The tool shows the current credit cost, your balance, and any available signup credits before you start. Check the pricing page if you need more credits.

Can I get transcripts in languages other than English?

Transcripts can be returned in the languages available from the source video. Availability varies by video; this tool does not automatically translate the text into another language.
